Seasonal smoothies with figs

Here is a simple and healthy recipe for a seasonal smoothie that is simple and fast. You just need figs, which are currently in season and low in calories, bananas, and milk.  Figs are a low-glycemic fruit that blend well with bananas to create this delicious seasonal smoothie.

In a blender, pour several slices of frozen bananas and several figs, then add milk to them, and blend until you end up with a homogenous mixture.

I freeze my own bananas (I keep them in the freezer for one day or so) if I want a frozen smoothie.  I even add several cubes of ice.  If you prefer your smoothie to be more fluid, then fresh bananas work as well.

Sometimes, I make an even healthier smoothie by adding several table spoons of plain Kefir or yogurt to the mixture.

The outcome is a very flavorful delicious smoothie!
