How to make baked cabbage at home fast:

  1. Shred a fresh cabbage head (2-3 lbs) or mix half of it with Sauerkraut depending on your preference
  2. Put it in an oven-resistant pot or glass container
  3. Add a little water, Sauerkraut juice (optional), oil, salt, and mix all well
  4. Add 2-3 bay leaves and black pepper
  5. Cover the tray to prevent it from drying
  6. Put it in the oven at 375F for 35 min
  7. Add ~20-25 oz of tomato sauce and mix well. On top, add your protein such as sausage, pork ribs, pork chops, smoked bacon, or even chicken. If you are vegan/vegetarian, skip the protein part.
  8. Put it back in the oven for ~35min (still covered) while checking it regularly to ensure that it does not get burned.
  9. Remove the lid, and add fresh dill (optional).
  10. Put it back in the oven for 10 more min with the lid off.
  11. Turn off the oven, and enjoy the delicious dish!
