Making bread usually entails advance planning, but not this soda bread recipe. It requires no kneading and no planning. What I love most about it is its nice hard crust. I always have buttermilk or Kefir in my fridge as it is a healthy probiotic that I consume almost every day. However, you can even make your own and it lasts in fridge for a while. Ingredients:
- 500 g Flour
- 400 mL Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 392 F.
- Mix well all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add buttermilk in the middle of the bowl and incorporate it into the mixture above using a fork. Do not overwork the dough as it prevents it from rising.
- Shape the dough into a round 6-inch in diameter.
- Place the dough on a pan covered with parchment paper.
- Bake it at 392 F for 40 min.
- Turn the oven off and leave it there for 5 more minutes.
